code folding toggles [message #157943] Sun, 09 May 2004 15:22 Go to next message

Hi,

Although I very much delighted that a long awaited feature will finally be
included in M9 I was not so impressed by its look-and-feel. I find the
rotating triangle toggles rather confusing. I thought that a "standard
way" to present code folding is using +/- toggles similar to Netbeans[1]
and Idea [2].

Anyone else?

I want circle and point
Just kidding - I think that is platform dependencies (I have linux with
triangle and I think that is +/- on Windows)

regards

IMHO, the triangles (which currently are used on Windows) can be
confused with the "overrides/is overridden" markers which are also
triangles. Therefore, I'd prefer the IDEA way.

Furthermore, I find it irritating, that if I click twice a little bit
too fast, not only a method is folded but also the class...

Very good point. Anyone else? Should we enter a feature request/ bug
report?

All the best.
