PageBookView in v1.0? [message #14784] Fri, 30 March 2007 01:00 Go to next message

Hi,

Can I ask if the draft plan for 1.0 can be considered an exhaustive list of
API that will definitely be in the release? For instance are there plans for
things like PageBookViews, WorkbenchAdapters etc. or should I assume that
anything not listed in the plan falls into the out of scope/community
involvement desirable categories?

Further ahead, are there any plans for some of the higher level ui
components to be ported, e.g. org.eclipse.jface.text, the console, eclipse
forms etc?

We're currently using eclipse for several projects but a decision has been
made that at least one of the products is to be moved to a web based/AJAX
style front-end. Obviously we'd like to minimise the work involved and
continue using eclipse if at all possible and RAP seems like it could be the
way to go.

How far do you see RAP going? Are there portions of eclipse that it will
definitely never try to reproduce?

Cheers,

Matt

Hi Matt,

The draft plan is not an exhaustive list, and it is likely to change,
too. We are expanding the team and we are in the process of redefining
the plan in some areas. But we will need another week or so.

You will receive a detailed answer soon.

Jochen
