Eclipse and Emacs - newbie [message #14769] Tue, 06 May 2003 05:27 Go to next message

Hi *,
I'm still evaluating Eclipse. Just now I'm using Emacs and I'd like to see
Eclipse to behave like Emacs (in Java development).
What I missed most are the colors of text and also <Alt>-"/" feature
(automatic finishing of words).
Do you know about a plugin that can do what I want?

Thanks in advance,
Lubos

You can change the colors in the workbench preferences.
If you want the context-sensitive completion (called code-assist),
just press Ctrl+Space. If you want context-insensitive completion (like
Alt+/ in emacs), you can download the "Editor Enhancemnets" plugin
from http://lunar-eclipse.sourceforge.net/

Another alternative to try is TabNavigator. It adds some additional key
actions that you can bind keys to, such as JavaLineIndent which indents the
current line according to the java editor's preferences.

http://zclipse.org/projects/tabnavigator/
