Jubula vs SWTBot [message #1066709] Wed, 03 July 2013 18:03 Go to next message

Hi all,

My manager asked me to investigate both SWTbot and Jubula, since they both help automate GUI functional testing. My product is a company-specific CDT debugger that is built on java. I am very new to SWTbot and Jubula. As far as I know at this point, Jubula is not code-based and SWTBot is, and they both achieve the same goal.
Could anyone please give me some advice on which one might fit us better and why? What's the pros and cons of each one? My project is built using Jenkins.

Thanks a lot.

I think what suits you better is definitely context- and project-dependent. A high-level overview of Jubula can be found here or you can chat to the BREDEX team about your use cases / technical requirements during a proof of concept or web session.

What do you mean by context and project dependent? Could you please elaborate a bit more?
Since my RCP is a debugger, is Jubula able to determine things like
did AUT get stopped for a breakpoint hit,
did AUT perform a step over/into operation
did AUT perform a resume operation?

Are these possible at all, or they are considered as non-UI test cases?

Thanks a lot.
