"Dynamic Web Project" in 3.2.2 [message #156962] Tue, 17 January 2006 13:46 Go to next message

I had to reinstall my OS, and decided to try the latest Eclipse/WST
combination instead of using my previous installation. Unfortunately, I
can't find what I need.

Using what it said on the WST web page, I installed:

Eclipse 3.2M4
WST 1.5M4
EMF 2.2.0M4
GEF 3.2M4
JEM 1.2M1

Then I started this installation of eclipse with a -clean, and tried to
import my projects. The plain java .jar project came in fine, but I
can't find where to import my "Dynamic Web Project". Has the name for
that changed, or am I missing something? I don't see the J2EE
perspective either, which was in my previous installation. That makes
me think I might be missing something for WST to work properly.

Any help appreciated!

The WST does not contain the J2EE perspective nor support for
Dynamic Web Projects. You need the full WTP download instead.

WST = Web Standard Tools
JST = J2EE Standard Tools
WTP = WST + JST (for now)

When I check the status of the JST, I see a couple of errors:

Plug-in: "org.eclipse.jst.jsp.core" version: "1.0.100.v20060111-0015"
referenced by this feature is not included at runtime. Runtime includes
plug-in version "1.0.100.v20060111_0015" supplied by feature
"org.eclipse.jst.web_core.feature" version "1.0.0".

Plug-in: "org.eclipse.jst.jsp.ui" version: "1.0.100.v20060112-0325"
referenced by this feature is not included at runtime. Runtime includes
plug-in version "1.0.100.v20060112_0325" supplied by feature
"org.eclipse.jst.web_ui.feature" version "1.0.0".

There are similar problems in the WST section. How do I correct these?
Can I just fix the obvious punctuation errors?

Sorry for the red-herring typo! It was actually wtp-1.5M4.zip which I
installed. There appear to be some typo's in the class names which are
causing the problem (see my -more message).

I'm surpised none of "us" saw this as we tested M4 ... it might be becau=
se we all tested the "sdk" version
of the zip file? If you are able, you might try that ... and if it works=
, open a big bad bug on the non-sdk version!
That would be an embarrasing whole in our procedures!

I just finished installing again, this time from the SDK zips, and it's
showing pretty much the same errors. Do you still want me to post a
bug, or have you already taken care of it?
