What are the project settings used for? [message #156592] Sun, 15 January 2006 08:03
Eclipse UserFriend
hi all!

I have just installed WTP 1.0 and i'm looking how to generate Tomcat
dynamic web projects using Ant.

I have created a project and changed the files found in .settings/
directory:

- .component
- org.eclipse.jdt.core.prefs
- org.eclipse.jst.common.project.facet.core.prefs
- org.eclipse.wst.common.project.facet.core.xml

playing with them i have realized that the last one is needed by eclipse
to detect that is dynamic web project. But when i make the project point
to another server and restart eclipse these files doesn't change.

My doubt is: If these config files aren't updated when i change its
properties in eclipse, what are they needed for?

Thanks for any help you provide me :-D
