Ok ,Have come up with a solution assuming only gridlayout,
Five java files have been attached.
SWTGridExample is test class for testing the implementation,
dummyLabelTest tests adding dummy labels on a parent using GridLayoutWithDummies as layout and painting the text on the parent itself instead of a Label control.
griddata consideration of horizontal and vertical span not implemented properly and also there may be bugs with other properties..
but still the basic idea has been proven and all issues can be dealt with later..
Inputs and feedback are welcome, please use the implementation as and when required without any restrictions
Hello everyone,
Back After a long time .
The out of handles issue has struck again.
it is a design flaw i agree, but how would you manage 10 application in single RCP workspace, with each application being a back office system with n no of forms, with labels, text, combo, list, table, tree etc
apart from images,fonts and colors.
For example a single editor takes up 300 controls plus ~50 other resources.
Apart from this all these applications are stable on their own for a long time, at this stage to refactor the code it would require a huge effort.
any way
I was planning to apply the above work around in a new application and hence did some changes,
do go through the same and give your inputs in terms of is it relevant, probable issues, required and good to have enhancements etc
and do contribute please
---------------------
why, mr. Anderson, why, why do you persist?
Because I Choose To.
Regards,
Vijay
