publishing takes too long [message #155621] Tue, 10 January 2006 06:31 Go to next message

Hi,

with WTP 1.0 / Eclipse 3.1.1 / Tomcat 5.5 it takes ages to publish or
replublish
my webapp. (ages == 3-4 minutes)

Ok the webapp is nontrivial, a couple thousand files, a few hundred MB
source to compile, but still, the publish starts _after_ the project has
been built, and I have a decent laptop (2 GB RAM, 1.8 GHz Pentium M).

Most of the publishing time the CPU is at 100%.

Q: What's it doing during publish? How can I speed it up?

Previously I was using the sysdeo tomcat plugin, and a restart used to take
about 15 secs :-)
