Is there something I missed?
I ahve installed v3 M8 and everything is OK
BUT
I can't paste into the source after copying from external files. The file
are .java.

Any clues or point me in the right direction for info please.

Sorry,
I may have been a bit hasty.
I had copied from a .java file from a CD and then pasted into my java
source. It doesn't work.
So,
I pasted into a notepad file, re-copied it and, Voila!, it pasted in ok.
It appears the problem is external to Eclipse.

Gary.

i have very much the same problem. i can copy something
onto the clipboard but i can never paste regardles if i try
to use the menu (edit|paste) or the right mouse button or by
keyboard (shift+insert or ctrl+v) nothing works.

this is really nasty as it renders M8 completely useless.

i am using M8/suse linux 9.0/gtk

I've noticed this too, but it usually helps to copy things several times
(i.e. press ctrl-c several times). I have no idea what causes it, and
haven't given it much thought.

I _think_ it has happened in other apps too, but I can't say for certain.
(Just wanted to let you know.)

It appears this a fairly wide spread problem, manifesting itself in
several different ways.
see bug reports 38952 and 39207.

I can only hope the gurus can fix it as I am definately not that
experienced.
Gary.

This bugs are really about Cut/Paste, not copy.

PS. For the convenience sake, please provide URLs, not bug report #s.

BWT, what is the quickest way view bug knowing bug# ?
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/ and 'Quick search' with bug#?
