Jenkins build server - Server validation failed: Unexpected error: Forbidden [message #1044471]

I've added my Jenkins (1.511) URL to the build list, but when trying the 'Refresh' the Build Plans
I get ' Server validation failed: Unexpected error: Forbidden' in the Eclipse log.

If I press 'Open with Browser' in the build list, I can log in no problem.
Is there anything I need to check?

UPDATE: this seems to be related to 'Matrix based security' (even with all tick boxes checked for the user)
If I change to:
'Logged-in users can do anything'

I get instead:
' Server validation failed: Unexpected error: Unexpected response from server while logging in: Not Found'

Hi,

that sounds similar to this bug but that should have been addressed in Mylyn
Builds 0.9:

355927: running of build fails with Unexpected error: Forbidden when Cross
Site Request Forgery prevention is enabled
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=355927

Can you check if that setting is enabled on your server? If the connection
still fails for you please file a new bug and we can investigate if Mylyn
needs to be updated for changes in Jenkins.

Was a bug ever filed for this? I can confirm the "Prevent Cross Site Request Forgery exploits" checkbox isn't checked on our instance here and we have matrix based security enabled. We're currently at Jenkins version 1.429. If not, I'll file a bug.
