Hi all,
Several developers in our group have encountered a problem (starting
around M6 build up thru current M8) where Eclipse gets hosed somehow and
no longer brings up the source code when debugging. The debug views all
work, correct values in the variables view, correct line numbers in the
debug view, BUT the source view does not show the code associated with the
breakpoints. (I reported this in bug 56987 so you can see full comments
there - bug still not assigned).
I am looking for suggestions and possible explanations of why this is
occurring. I am confused because when this started happening to me on M8,
I did a complete, clean re-install of M8. I keep my workspaces separate
(start with -data) but even rebuilt the workspace, re-installed all the
plugins/features, workspace customizations hoping this would correct the
problem. It didn't!
Does Eclipse keep (work) files in any other places other than the eclipse
directory and the workspace? I am running on Win2K. BTW, It appears to
only happen on web applications. I am running Tomcat 5.0.18 with the
Sysdeo launcher plugin.
I've been debugging by manually switching the source code view to the line
number reported in the debug view, but this has to stop...
