Application launch very slow -- any way to speed it up? [message #151679] Sat, 20 August 2005 18:59

Whenever I launch my application from inside Eclipse (Project | Run...)
it's taking about 15 seconds before the app actually launches (it takes
about a second from the command line--we're talking about a small app here).

I can forgive that if I'm launching a debugger, but when just running
this seems crazy.

Is there any way to speed this up?

I'm looking at the "Connect process input & output to terminal" checkbox
as being the most likely culprit but that's disabled so I can't clear
it. I tried turning off "allocate console" and "run in background" but
neither made a difference.

Anyone found a way to speed this up?

Thanks,

Doug

Eclipse 3.1, CDT 3.0 (gold), cygwin/gcc, Windows XP Pro.
