Hi

The differences are tiny and unintentional so I suspect you have
misunderstood your problem.

Yes, this question was posted on eclipse.newcomer as well. There I
replied suggesting it's better to ask on eclipse.tools.emf and asking:

Are you trying to serialize a *.ecore resource as EMOF? You you
can do that using Save As in the Sample Ecore Editor and choosing a
local with .emof as the file extension.

Of course it's not clear if the question is really about serializing
Ecore or some other model...

Hi Ed.. Thanks for your reply...

To be more clear we have generated ecore xmi file, now we need to view this diagramatically as in ecorediag..
But we i convert .ecore to .ecorediag through right click on .ecore file, it gives me a scattered diagram.. Sad..
So just wanted to know is there any other tool which can open this .ecore file view diagramatically..Or after converting this to EMOF can i get diagramatic view on anyother tool...

Regards

Hi

It seems that Ecore Tooling has successfully displayed a diagramatic
view of your model. You are just unhappy with the auto-layout.

IMHO layout is an important editorial issue that you should not expect a
tool to do for you. So looking around for another tool may just give you
a differently unsatisfactory default layout.

If you want X/Y positioning to be an important aspect of your model then
you need to specify it. Expect to at least reposition elements in the
Ecore Diagram and, if the model is large, to partition into multiple
diagrams.
