Papyrus vs eUML2 [message #1030112] Sat, 30 March 2013 14:01
Eclipse UserFriend
Comparing Papyrus & Soyatec eUML2, we preferred Papyrus because
a) Its more suited for top down modeling while eUML2 asks for coding details like package hierarchy before allowing you to create a diagram.
b)One can easily create a profile in papyrus. We have created a database profile in papyrus which shows primary keys etc
c)Papyrus being part of EMF - is likely to be free and updated frequently. While soyatec euml2 is not free in the latest eclipse versions.

What are your thoughts on the above. Which is more stable ? Papyrus is not very stable and gives lots of null pointer and other exceptions - its also in incubator status. How much support & commitment is there for making Papyrus a stable and usable tool?

Do share ur experience & recommendations. Also does anyone know if we can create a 'database' profile in eUML2>
