Bug Tracking in Eclipse? [message #150111] Thu, 27 April 2006 23:46 Go to next message

I was wondering if there are any bug tracking tools associated with
Eclipse, or is that outside the scope of this IDE? Also, if there are any
such tools, which ones are they?

Thanks!

There are plug-ins to work with many bug control systems available -
Bugzilla has this one: http://people.redhat.com/jpound/ and the Eclipse
Mylar project also interacts with Bugzilla. Rational provides a plug-in
to interact with ClearQuest. There are probably others - you'll need to
search for whatever bug tracking system you are using.

Hope this helps,
- Jeff

Hi Jeff,

Do you happen to know what version of eclipse is supported by the Redhat
plugin? I had a look at the web page but it looks like it hasn't been
updated in a while. As well, the link they provide for an update site is
broken.

I think the RedHat plug-in targets Eclipse 3.1, but not sure.

Thanks! I'm currently looking into different Defect/Bug/Issue tracking
tools, so that'll be a feature that I take into account while evaluating.
The <a href="http://www.eclipse.org/mylar/">Mylar Project</a> looks
interesting. One of my pet peeves is inefficient display of data, looks
like they're addressing that hard-core.

Thanks Again!

There is also (not surprisingly) a ClearQuest Eclipse plugin. The
plugin is free, but you do need to purchase ClearQuest
