I'm looking for pointers about how to make the editor area a certain
fixed size and adding a background image to it. I'm looking for a way of
putting a map inside the editor and making the editor size the size of
the map image.

I found an example adding a compass figure (RoseFigure) to the editor.
This was done by adding the code for that in the
MyRootEditPart::createFigure(). Is this where I would achieve the size
and background image feature as well?
