Problem Description:
We have upgraded to Eclipse 4.2 for our product which is eclipse based and requires a 32 bit JVM to run because of some component plugins. In the previous version of eclipse 3.5.2 we were able to point to a 32 bit JVM and start eclipse using xmanager/exceed. However doing the same with Java 7 jdk + linux 6.2 64 bit does not work. Brief description of what I am trying to do is given below:
- Point to a 32 bit JVM in a 64-bit linux 6.2 server machine.
- export the DISPLAY variable to a windows machine
- start ./eclipse
Getting the following error.
(eclipse:4009): GLib-WARNING **: getpwuid_r(): failed due to unknown user id (14488)
Xlib: extension "RANDR" missing on display "xxx.xxx.xxx.xx:0.0".
/export/home/eclipse: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libgdk-x11-2.0.so.0: undefined symbol: g_source_set_name
What we need is a list of 32 bit libraries that need to be updated on a linux 6.2 server so that eclipse can be started without any errors. After some searching on google we have tried updating various libraries but with no luck. If someone could provide a definite list of 32 bit libraries required to run eclipse 4.2 on a 64 bit linux 6.2 machine would be a great help.
Thanks.
Abhishek
