Is there someone who knows why BIRT Developer Guide (eclipse plugin BIRT
2.0.0) is far less advanced than corresponding documentation available
on the web (http://help.eclipse.org/help31/index.jsp)

My local help lacks of important topics like "Understanding the data
classes" or "Understanding report state, design and document classes".

My local help is newer (2006). It would be great to have that sections.
Are they up-to-date ??

Actually, the material on the web site is out of date. It refers to BIRT
1.0.1. Yes, it looks much more substantial, but it's not accurate. Some
parts are incomplete in relation to BIRT 2.0 and others are at best
misleading and in some cases plain wrong.

I've asked the Eclipse webmaster whether there's some way to address the
issue.

Thanks for bringing this up.

By the way, the best information for BIRT 2.0 will soon be available in book
form from Addison-Wesley and on the Amazon.com web site. Search for birt in
the books on amazon. The publication dates are in June, but they might be
available sooner than that.

There's a book advertised on amazon.co.uk which I noticed a few weeks
ago. The Definitive Guide to Eclipse BIRT by Hague, supposedly published
by Apress.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/1590596684/qid%3D11 43552843/202-3062107-7881446#product-details

I couldn't find any information about this book on the Apress website
and had no response to my inquiries.

Does anybody know anything about this book?
