Ontology-Partners Ltd is a well funded, venture-backed start-up based in
London developing control, measurement and intelligence products for the
telecommunications industry.
Our team is composed of the very best software engineers working in this
space today: the product we previously worked on is one of the industry
leaders in its class. We have collaborative relationships with a number of
leading academic institutions.
At the core of our new venture are formal modeling technologies of the
type more commonly seen in the context of semantic web research and
development. These technologies present a range of opportunities for
innovative GUI approaches and we are seeking an experienced HCI specialist
to help us explore and exploit these.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with the top people on the cutting
edge of telecommunications, semantic technology and software engineering.
ESSENTIAL
~3 years GUI design and implementation, both web-based and Java
thick-client(e.g. Swing, SWT/Eclipse RCP)
Solid understanding of issues in usability and HCI
~5 year using Java in the context of large-scale enterprise systems
Comfortable developing software in a heterogenous environment including
both Linux and Windows with tooling based around Eclipse, Subversion,
JUnit etc.
Comfortable with agile software development methods - either keen to try
them or with experience
NICE TO HAVE
Some knowledge/experience of OSGi framework
Experience with knowledge representation and semantic modelling (OWL,
OWL-DL, RDF) a HUGE advantage
Experience of or background in the telecommunications industry/vendor
providing OSS software an advantage but not necessary
Remuneration:
We offer extremely competitive pay which includes employee stock options.
Location:
King's Cross, London, UK
