Team menu impoverished [message #1012040] Wed, 20 February 2013 14:11 Go to next message

I'm using Egit with DLTK (Dynamic Language Toolkit) to work on Tcl source code. When I right click on a source file name in the Script Explorer and select Team, the menu is very impoverished compared to what I see in the EGit website documentation.

index.php/fa/13494/0/

The same problem happens if I have a Java project open.

The file icon decorations that EGit is supposed to supply are also missing.

Any idea what might be wrong?

Sounds like you didn't import the projects correctly. The most reliable approach, particularly for versions of EGit older than 2.3, is to add your local repository to the "Git Repositories" view, then use the right-click popup menu on that newly added entry and select "Import Projects..."

That fixes it, thanks.

So projects in Git should be imported via the Import in Git Repositories rather than the one in Project Explorer. Looks like you might also be able to do it via the Project Explorer Import by selecting Git|Projects from Git.

Thanks again!

I think import works better in general as of the current stable release (2.3) than it did in earlier releases. You might want to update to 2.3: http://download.eclipse.org/egit/updates

You can also get nightly builds of of the next release: here: http://download.eclipse.org/egit/updates-nightly
