I have seen many screen shots with tabs inside the property view. One
screen shot shows four tabs: General, Other, Attributes, and Documenation.

Another screen shot shows two tabs: Advanced and Appearance
(http://www.eclipse.org/gmf/tutorial/tutorial.html on page 4)

Does anyone know how to create these tabs within a view such as the
property view?

As you had mentioned a GMF tutorial link, the source seems to be bundled with GMF download in org.eclipse.wst.common.ui.properties plugin. GMF people can better answer if that can be used or not. If yes, may a little note on how-to use.
