Running Equinox application on 64bit Java / Solaris [message #1006614] Fri, 01 February 2013 02:46 Go to next message

Hi,

does anyone know if and how one can run a headless eclipse/equinox application on Solaris witha 64bit Java? According to

http://www.eclipse.org/projects/project-plan.php?projectid=rt.equinox

Only 32bit is officially supported. This will however, not be sufficient for our purposes as we require 64bit for our server product on Solaris. Does anyone her have experience or relevant pointers on how I can make this work?

Thanks,

Anders

Hello,
I think that mentioned "reference platform" table doesn't mean that
Equinox cannot run on 64bit but just they didn't test it against 64bit
Solaris.

Equinox is 99,9% pure Java. Only native part is launcher [1]. Therefore
you may use Equinox on Solars with 64bit JDK with profit.
