This may not be entirely on topic, but this seems to be the best place to
ask.

I would like to move to WTP 0.7.1 from 0.7. I'm currently using Eclipse
3.1. The dependencies listed at
http://download.eclipse.org/webtools/downloads/drops/M-0.7.1 -200509270720/
are:

- The EMF driver used in this build is emf-sdo-xsd-SDK-2.1.1.zip
- The GEF driver used in this build is GEF-SDK-3.1.1.zip
- Java EMF Model Runtime driver used in this build is JEM-SDK-1.1.0.1.zip

When I use Eclipse's update feature, it tells me that the following updates
for installed features are available:
- JEM: Java EMF Model 1.1.0.1
- EMF/SDO/XSD: EMF SDK 2.1.1
- GEF: GEF 3.1.1

I'm assuming that since these version numbers match those listed as the WTP
0.7.1 requirements that I'd be all set to do the update, and then download
the wtp-0.7.1.zip file and drop it into my plugins directory. However, the
lack of the SDK name in the JEM and GEF updates listed by eclipse makes me
wonder if there's a difference between them (especially since at the
download site of 0.7.1 there is one download listed as wtp-0.7.1.zip and one
as wtp-sdk-0.7.1.zip). What's the difference between those things with the
SDK in their names and those without?

If I download the wtp-0.7.1.zip file, do I need to delete those files
referenced by 0.7.0? If so, how do I identify them? Does:
ls -d *wst*
do the trick before the download?

Thanks,
Ryan

I just downloaded the all-in-one zip for 0.7.1, and expanded it into a
new directory. Then, after testing 0.7.1 to make sure it worked, I
deleted the 0.7 folder/version of WTP. Perhaps I'm missing something
though about why this would not work for you.

This won't work for me, because I'm running on Solaris, not Windows/Linux.
Thus, there is no all-in-one version.

Besides, this isn't really all that great an update strategy - what if I had
several other plugins installed?

Oh, I see.

I see again. Fortunately for me, I don't need much more than basic WTP
(I just need to move two extra jars into the Ant plugin), so thankfully
I can just use the all-in-one download.
