Validation of root diagram element [message #997249] Fri, 04 January 2013 12:05 Go to next message

My root container object has some properties that I want to batch validate. I'd like this to work in the same way as I've validated other diagram elements, displaying the error marker, showing an error in the error pane and so forth. I've have this working with those diagram elements but can't figure out how to get it to work with the Diagram object itself. I don't see anyway to select that as a "diagram element target." Any suggestions appreciated.

thanks,

Nick

Hi,

what do you use for validation?

I've been using audit rules in the gmf map and setting the language to Java.

Hi Nick,

do you use Domain Element Target or Diagram Element Target? If I use Domain Element Target I can select the root of my diagram.

Yeah, I tried that and it will validate but I don't get any visual notification that there is an error. That's really what I'm looking for. Something to tell the user that there is a problem. Maybe I'm missing something there.

thanks,

Nick

Hi,

does the error pop up in the problem view after validation? If it does so this could be a limitation of GMF runtime. Maybe you could open a bug on this.
