Can Swing component write to console in VE? [message #143258] Sat, 08 December 2007 11:35 Go to next message

When I develop my Swing visual component in the Visual Editor, how can I
make my component write to the console? In other words, within the VE, how
can a component write to the Eclipse consle?

Alternatively, can I at least throw up a JOptionPane-like dialog to
display state?

Without the Eclipse debugger, a console, and a dialog box, I'm developing
blind. I've resorted to writing debug messages to a file, and to toggling
from development to runtime just to see what's on the console.

Is there a better way?

Thanks,
Eli

By default anything that is written to the VE component's Syster.error
will be logged in the workspace's .log file.
