I started with a new copy of EclipseRCP 3.5 (Build id: 20090619-0625)

I used update site to get RAP software (1.1.1)

Restarted Eclipse and got Overview Window.

Selected "Rich Ajax Platform" link and got the following error:

Failed execute command: org.eclipse.rap.ui.intro.installTarget
Exception occured when loading the handler

Any suggestions?

Is there documentation for selecting target platform manually?

I was working from the book "Eclipse Rich Ajax Platform" by Fabian Lange.

(It's a great book. I recommend it. However, the instructions are
already a little bit out-of-date.)

Used the "Getting Started" instructions on RAP webpage.
This solved the problem.

Hi Charlie,

great that it now worked for you.

Regarding the exception: Did you had a space character in your Eclipse
installation path? See
230341: [Tooling] Target install fails with whitespace in eclipse path
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=230341

If not, please give a stacktrace so we can track down the error.
