Java IDE - It's not there [message #134883] Wed, 24 September 2003 06:37 Go to next message

Hello,

I heard quite a lot of good about eclipse and wanted to try it for some
Java project so I downloaded the eclipse 2.1.1 platform (win32) and
unzipped it.

When checking the documentation "Java development user guide > Preparing
the workbench" it tells you to check the JRE. It should be in Window >
Preferences.
I have Workbench, Ant, Build Order, Debug, Help, Install/Update, Team but
no Java.

Somewhere else on the site it states: "The eclipse SDK is shipped with a
complete Java IDE". So I downloaded the 2.1.1 SDK and unzipped it.
Started. But still no Java to be found.

There is no information in the FAQ about this, so could please someone
explain me how I get to that 'integrated' Java IDE?

Thanks,
Olivier

Nevermind. I deleted the directory and unzipped the SDK again. Everything
is fine... sorry for the bother... have a nice day...
