Suggestions for behavior tab in testsuite [message #132532] Fri, 11 July 2008 10:01 Go to next message

I am defining a large testsuite (at least 20 methods), and am finding
the process tedious. Has the suggestion ever been put forth before to
add an "Add All" button to the behavior tab that would add all the test
methods previously unadded to the invocation list? Also, another useful
button would be a "Sort" on either the Test Methods or Behavior tab,
since you might want the methods/invocation to be sorted alphabetically,
which makes it easier to manage and locate tests.

I would be happy to create enhancements in bugzilla if either of these
has not been suggested previously.

Hi David,
If you are using JUnit/JUnit Plug-in test types, you do not have to
define a behaviour. On the Overview tab, click 'Implement Test Behaviour as
code'.

That said, your suggestion is a valid usability improvement. The only
caveat is that test behaviours may invoke local test case (same test suite)
or external test cases/suites, so the action would have to be 'add all local
test cases as test invocations of this test suite. Please open an
enhancement for this usability enhancement.

As for the suggestion on alphabetical sorting, I can see the utility for
test cases but no test invocations because their behaviour is in context of
other test suites (external references) and loops. There are up/down
buttons for both test cases and loops/invocations and adding alphabetical
sorting to test cases would allow users to defined sorted behaviours in
three user gestures instead of one. Please open an enhancement for
alphabetical sorting.
