Hmm, okay. I found the GEF RedBook rather ehm.. though jargon, or maybe
that's because I haven't learned the Eclipse basics.
And the "eclipse.platform forums" are the eclipse.platform newsgroups found
on this server?

You might want to try the GEF website(www.eclipse.org/gef/), there is a
basic tutorial which is simpler than the RedBook

Okay, I already found those too very early on.

I'll ask there, I think I have more problems than just trying to grasp
Eclipse. Like, why does it keep mowning about not having a JRE installed,
while obviously (I'm not using GCJ) running on one, Sun JDK's JRE even. And
how can you send projects to other people and have those opened in Eclipse.

Is there also something in between? Like, less chitchat and more 'how', and
also less dependend upon prior knowledge than the RedBook.
