Nicole,

I am not sure I understand the initial question, but BIRT allows multiple
datasets in a report.

Once you add parameters to the report in the URL you specify the
parameter_name=value.
The only restriction is the length of the URL.
Take a look at
http://www.eclipse.org/birt/index.php?page=deploy/viewer-use .html

Take a look at the BIRT newsgroup, you should be able to get your questions
answered.
