Committing Changes to CVS [message #128971] Tue, 10 January 2006 13:11 Go to next message

I know that I can copy individual file changes from CVS to my local copy,
but is there a way to do the revesre - in other words to commit only
certain changes in a file? Right now I only see how to commit the entire
file.

Thanks,
TSC

Nope, CVS is file-based, so you can't get more granular than that.

Hi Andrew,

Thanks for the reply. I understand your point, but if it is correct then
why can I update parts of a file from CVS but not commit my changes in the
same fashion?

FYI, most of my development is done in PHP.

You could replace those changes you don't want to release with the CVS
content first and then commit. Afterwards you can get back the previous
content via local history.
