I'm setting the extension point 'org.eclipse.core.runtime.preferences'.
Does not work the code.

<extension
id="com.mantech.rap.monitor.preference.initial"
point="org.eclipse.core.runtime.preferences">
<initializer
class="com.xxx.rap.monitor.preferences.PreferenceInitializer ">
</initializer>
</extension>

the code.
/**
* Class used to initialize default preference values.
*/
public class PreferenceInitializer extends AbstractPreferenceInitializer {

/*
* (non-Javadoc)
*
* @see
org.eclipse.core.runtime.preferences.AbstractPreferenceIniti alizer#initializeDefaultPreferences()
*/
public void initializeDefaultPreferences() {
IPreferenceStore store = Activator.getDefault().getPreferenceStore();

store.setDefault(PreferenceConstants.NAME_GET_DATA_THREAD_SE COND,
PreferenceConstants.VALUE_GET_DATA_THREAD_SECOND);
store.setDefault(PreferenceConstants.NAME_VIEWER_REFERSH_DAT A_SECOND,
PreferenceConstants.VALUE_VIEWER_REFERSH_DATA_SECOND);
}

}

the initialization happens upon first access to the preferences. The
call to your class is deferred until it's really needed.
