For some reason, I am never given the choice to give a name to new Swing
components. How do I restore this behavior?

Thanks,
Jim

Jim,

The prompt for bean name does not happen on GTK because there's a bug
that causes the UI to deadlock opening up the dialog on click on GTK.

To answer your question though, on non-GTK platforms, the option to show
the dialog again after choosing to hide it is in the Visual Editor
preferences in Window->Preferences->Java->Visual Editor.

Hope this helps,
- Jeff
