Using DOJO in custom widgets + AJAX [message #126940] Thu, 02 April 2009 17:02 Go to next message

Hello,

I know it might be a very basic question,
but does RAP supports the use case of having
widget which uses some another framework,
like DOJO or JQuery UI or some other javascript widget,
which would be able to work with data of our application?

So I would put on the page this widget, give it some link to data.
Then widget would make a query to the server to acquire a data
and widget will work with them.

Is it possible with RAP?
And does my approach for using widgets in RAP application makes sense for
you?

Thanks,
Jan

Hi Jan,

the RAP help contains a tutorial that shows how to create a simple
custom widget using the Google maps API. I would recommend to start with
this one and then try the same with a simple DOJO widget. Theoretically,
this should work, but I'm not sure whether qooxdoo and DOJO fit together
or if both frameworks interfere with one another in some way.

Let us know about your findings!

Best regards, Ralf
