I was reading the Eclipse 1.3.2 and associated VE plugins would support
SpringLayout, but it seems that it does not. Any thoughts when this will
be supported?

Mike,

Where did you read that VE would support SpringLayout? There are a
couple open enhancements requests for the feature, but as far as I know,
no one is working on it.

"thought" VE would be supporting it too, my bad. Any idea when VE will be
supporting SpringLayout?

That post is about Swing Designer (part of WindowBuilder product).

http://www.swing-designer.com/

Swing Designer supports all standard Swing layout managers including Spring
Layout...

....as well as popular third party layout managers such as JGoodies
FormLayout...

....and the new GroupLayout that is used by Matisse...

Our support for GroupLayout is even better than what is in Matisse.
