Eclipse and CVS: separability of code ? [message #121769] Wed, 03 September 2003 04:57
Eclipse UserFriend
I would like to create a setup in Eclipse and CVS which allows me to do
the following:

* checkout some packages as separate projects, so we can work on them
separately to really ensure good separation
* sometimes use several of these packages together (when there are
interdependencies)

I am wondering of the packages which I want to be able to work on
individually have to be separate CVS modules or not. I would assume that
it would be a good decision though.

Also, if I want to use several packages together, do I need to check
them out into individual projects and allow them to refer to eachother
through the Preferences of a project ? When tagging such a project, will
the dependent projects get tagged too ?
Or is it somehow possible to aggregate multiple different sources in a
single Eclipse project ?

Another option is one giant CVS module for all the source, but this
seems very ugly to me (even though you can checkout parts of a module
using CVS).

thanks for your help,

Vincent
