What to use for automated xtext builds & tests? [message #908584] Wed, 05 September 2012 11:52 Go to next message

Hello all

I'm currently developing & running unit/integration tests within the IDE, then launching run-time eclipse for interactive testing.

Have been putting off automating builds but can do so no more.

So: what do people use? I want to:

- have all JUnit tests run automatically
- have plugins, products & update site built automatically

Doesn't have to run on a CI server: my own project so kicking off manually on local machine is fine.

Aware of Tycho & BuildBoost: any experiences using either for building xtext-based plugins? Repo is mercurial-based and hosted on BitBucket in case that makes a difference.

Any pointers/recommendations/gotchas appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi Scott,

I'm using Tycho. It doesn't matter if its Xtext based or whatever. Xtext itself is build with Buckminster.

Vlad, Karsten, thanks - had completely missed Buckminster. Will take a look.

- Scott.
