Eclipse M5 performance problem [message #120588] Mon, 24 November 2003 20:25 Go to next message

I recently upgraded to M5 from M3 and I am seeing some performance problems
when simply scrolling through a java file using the down arrow key. Eclipse
seems to get very sluggish and I notice in the progress view this task is
started when eclipse begins to slow down "Java AST creation". It is making
Eclipse quite sluggish on my machine where with M3 it was very responsive.

I am running Eclipse M5 on Win32 using jdk 1.4.02 on a 1.7ghz p4 with these
vmargs: -Xmx=256m (there is plenty of available memory left on the machine).

Is anyone else experiencing this? Are there some options that are known to
cause performance problems that I can turn off?

Thanks,
ryan

I just reported a bug on the 3.x builds regarding performance degradation.
