Hi all,
Is it possible to install and update GEF with Update Manager instead of
downloading files?
If not, when do you plan to implement this?

This is a good question, but one which is best answered by the Eclipse.org
"infra" team. We do not manage our own builds, but borrow from the process
used for building the eclipse platform. I imagine that one reason why this
has not been done is that the Update mechanism is a moving target. Try
asking on eclipse-dev probably tools-dev@eclipse.org
