Internal server error [message #119454] Sun, 29 January 2006 23:09 Go to next message

I've gone through the installation instructions three times to ensure I
didn't miss anything, but I continue to get an "HTTP 500 - Internal server
error
Internet Explorer" when I preview a report (following the flash example).
I read similar threads in the archives and the solution was always to
install the axis jar file. I put my axis jar files (all six of them) in
C:\eclipse\plugins\org.eclipse.birt.report.viewer_2.0.0\birt \WEB-INF\lib
as per the instructions.

Any suggestions? Am I missing something obvious? I have the latest
release version of Eclipse, BIRT, EMF, JRE, GEF, IText, etc.

Thanks.

if you have put the birt libraries into jre/lib/ext or your classpath , that
may be causing errors.

No, I haven't done that, at least to the best of my knowledge. I didn't
put the birt jar files anywhere except inside the eclipse folder. Is
there anyway I can turn logging on and see exactly what the error is?

Did you start Eclipse with the clean option?:
eclipse -clean

the log is in "workspace\.metadata\.plugins\org.eclipse.tomcat\". You may
want a clean start first.

Here is what I did:

1) Started a 'clean' version of eclipse.
2) Open a birt project
3) Went straight to the preview tab.

Below is my log:

There is no exception logged. Do you still see 500 error?

I still the 500 error message...the interesting thing is that I got it
working on my IBM ThinkPad at work, but I can't get it working on my home
computer. The only difference is that at work I use WebSphere whereas at
home I have Tomcat.
