Must have screwed up [message #894144] Fri, 06 July 2012 18:45 Go to next message

I've installed Juno on a couple of computers recently and have been setting them up. Just today, I tried to open a file in an editor, and absolutely NO views opened up. This happened for java, c, html/web/javascript. I tried to reset the views, open different views, different files, etc. I get absolutely nothing but a blank grey screen. I'm thinking this is something silly that I did, but haven't figured it out. I was messing around with setting up an icon on the launcher and may have moved some stuff around in the eclipse directory, but I'm sure that I put everything back. (That may have been on another machine, not sure because I did a lot on two different machines and everything has become a blur) I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, 64 bit, using the Unity desktop. The png shows what I see. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.index.php/fa/10609/0/

Deleting the workbench.xmi which is found in your .metadata directory (i
can't currently remember the folder but find on linux helps most likely)
after you shutdown eclipse ensures that your UI is rest to the default
state.

Thanks everyone, it's all back to normal now that I tried opening another window, closing everything, and then re-opening. I couldn't find any workbench.xml file anywhere related to this particular version of eclipse though.

In case it happens again, the location is workspace/.metadata/.plugins/org.eclipse.e4.workbench/workbench.xmi.
