TPTP 4.5.0 on Linux - solution [message #118443] Mon, 19 November 2007 09:57 Go to next message

Agent Controller (integrated or standalone) is started, but you can't
profile anything. All you get is the message that Agent Controller is
not available on port 10002.

Source of the problem seems to be that process named TimeCollector is
not started together with Agent Controller. You have to manually patch
AC by replacing "./TimeCollector.exe" by "TimeCollector" in the file
agents/org.eclipse.tptp.TimeCollector/agent.xml. File is relative to AC
home, which is in directory
eclipse/plugins/org.eclipse.tptp.platform.ac.linux_em64t_*.* /agent_controller
for integrated AC.

This is also in bugzilla

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=184192

Same issue should also appear on 32-bit Linux, but I haven't tried this yet.

Hi Alexander,
This is not a defect.
Substitution of agents executables in agent.xml on Linux is recommended in
the documantation.
To track implementation of dynamic generation of agent.xml files, bugzilla
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=132407 has been opened.
Regards,
Igor
