Thanks to the hard work of our committers and community to produce the
latest stable build, M5, as we are nearing the first release of WTP v0.7
at the end of July.

0.7M5 is a major milestone in respect to new function provided and APIs
proposed for the Web Tools Platform's 1.0 release. You can download and
start using this release at:

I have tried installing WTP M5 SDK on top of a fresh install of Eclipse 3.1
and all of the appropriate WTP M5 dependencies on Windows XP Professional.
It appears as if not all the functionality installed properly and I got no
errors in the error log. For example, I don't have a J2EE Perspective,
Enterprise Java Bean wizards or a Web and Tools Preference. Even the J2EE
Project Explorer View only has other projects and I can not create modules.
However, I do have Server preferences and Flexible Java Project
perspectives. Do you know what would cause this?

I also can't run the newest WTP on eclipse 3.1.
J2EE perspective doesn't work at all.

I have problem with almost all wizards -> Session Bean, entity, wsdl etc.

Is it bug in my system or in WTP M5?

txh for help, bye

I got same issue when i didn't copied the plugins, which comes in form of jar files
(new feature of Eclipse 3.1). Did you copied those plugins to your plugins directory ?

Missing a depencency purely by accident would cause this. Did you
start Eclipse with -clean the first time after installing WTP?

I posted something similar under the "No File | New | Web project menu
available" topic. I tried running eclipse -clean and I still cannot see
the menu items nor can I see anything in any log files as to what is
possibly causing the issue.

Yes, restart with the -clean option.

I have even tried moving to the 0704 and 0630 nightly builds and I have the
same problems. It almost appears as if the plug-ins that are jarred are not
working but the unjarred plug-ins are. For example, I see the generic
server definitions which are unjarred but I do not see geronimo which is
jarred.

Ok, I found the secret. The wtp-1.0M5.zip works. The wtp-sdk-1.0M5.zip does
not.
