Hi!

I tried to add support for JBoss 4.0.2.

I modified jboss 3.2.3 template in similar way someone here did for M4
and 4.0.1. It seems to be working for me...

Please note that it will overwrite your plugin.xml and
plugin.properties files, but they are same as in M5 with 4.0.2
definitions added.

Hope it helps.

Hi,Marko
It's not working.
After I extract the zip file and overwrite the plugin.xml , there's only
one server(IBM Websphere 6.0)
listed in the New Server Runtime-->Generic folder, all the others
disapeared.
Maybe there's some error in the plugin.xml, pls have a check, thanks in
advance.

I had the same problem

it works...
...but you have to change the file format of 2 files.
2 files are in UTF8 format and should be in ANSI.

when you change those 2 files, it works.

PS: can't tell you witch files because i can only use the
web newsreader at work, and the zip downloaded file is corrupted

this could be a good idea to have a BUILD IN support
for the latest opensource app server:

JBOSS 4.0.2
JONAS 4.4.3
GERONIMO 1.0

Thanks for your prompt response.

change those 2 files:
1?plugin.xml
2?jboss402.serverdef
from UTF-8 encoding to ANSI,then everything is ok.

Hi Terry!

Thanks for update. I was too busy to check problem today, but I see that
it is solved now. I just reinstalled my system so I guess I did not
configure everything correctly :).

Marko

Hi Seybaa,
There are zip files attached with my and terry's posts. Can't you see them?
Don't use my, aparently there are some problems with file encoding in
XML files.

Marko and Terry!
Thank you very much - it is great work!

My 2 cents: after the file updating you need to launch Eclipse with
–clean option (eclipse –clean).
This will clean the Eclipse cache and it will load new definitions.
Then you may use your regular Eclipse launch options.

Best regards,
Michael

In addition, you should update the plugin.xml file in order JBoss 4.0.2
configuration will support J2EE 1.4.
The attached zip contains Marko (or Terry) files with required
modification of plugin.xml.

Eclipse UserFriend
Salut,

thank you for your work.
I am actually using Eclipse3.1 with wtp-0.7RC1
and inserted your additional config files (+Terry's
corrections).

I created a new server (simple a copy of the default
JBoss server directory) and configured this server
instance.
When is attempt to start this server, the log-infos
appears in eclipse console and .... JBoss kernel
tells me, that the start succeeded. (FINE)

But eclipse pops-up a message, that the serverstart
failed !!! The funny thing is, that the server is
really dead ... at the end (it does not exist in the
process list anymore).

It looks like, that the message is badly grepped to
retrieve the startup-state.

Any clues ?
Groovy
