Content Assist Parsing timing out. [message #114964] Tue, 10 August 2004 23:13 Go to next message

Hi:

We are evaluating the usage of Eclipse+CDT on Solaris (actually, it's an XP
Pro machine running Reflection). And we were constantly receiving "Content
Assist parsing has timed out." error message on the status bar and nothing
happened when we typed a trigger (. or ->) or Ctrl-Space. Until we increased
the Content Assist parsing timeout from 3000 mls to 6000 mls.

However, even though we stopped getting the error, it was still too long to
wait for content assist window to come up. Is there any way to speed it up?
Or are we doing anything incorrectly?

Thank you.

CDT 2.0.1 has significant parser performance improvements that will help
this problem out a bit.
