CVS Status Feature [message #114810] Fri, 07 November 2003 12:26 Go to next message

It would be very cool if the CVS decorations showed whether a file needed
updating or committing or adding. On the other hand I would ditch the CVS
option string "(ASCII -kkv)" since I can assume that for all of my sources
and it ends up being clutter. BTW, is there a feature request process (e.g.,
JIRA) or just the newsgroup?

You can already get rid of the -kkv, go to the
Windows->Preferences->Team->CVS->Label Decorations.

From there you can remove the {keyword} However that would remove it
for all, even those that are binary.

There is already an indication for needs adding (a ?) or
dirty/needs-commiting (a >)

Window-->Preferences-->Team-->CVS-->Label Decorations-->('Icons'
tab)-->Indicate is outgoing.

in:

Window-->Preferences-->Team-->CVS-->Label Decorations-->('Text'
tab)-->'File Format:'

remove the '({keyword})' from the end. if you are using the 'Indicate is
outgoing' option above, you can also remove the '{dirty_flag} from 'File
Format:', 'Folder Format:', and 'Project Format:'.

Great but now I have another problem. EVERYTHING indicates an outgoing
change after I just fetched the whole tree using cvs co from the command
line and then fired up Eclipse. How do I sync 'em up again?

After doing an update all was well. All the files that were just checkout so
why an update was required is a mystery.
