Hi all,
since 1.2M3, the new CSS-based theming for RAP is now fully functional.
Until now, we kept the old properties-based theming subsystem intact and
synchronized both theming subsystems internally. But since the
maintenance of these two different subsystems is very complex and
time-consuming, we decided to discontinue the support for the old
property system in the 1.2 release, starting with M4.
If you still use properties files for custom themes, this means that you
have to turn them into CSS now. This switch also brings you a much more
flexible theming.
If you developed custom widgets that contribute qooxdoo appearances, you
have to ensure that your appearances Javascript does not refer to any
theming properties anymore. If you implemented a ThemeAdapter for your
custom widget, you'll also have to change it. Please take the themeable
RWT widgets as examples and if you have any further questions don't
hesitate to ask for advise here.
If you have objections or concerns, please add your comments also to
this bug:
257496: [Theming] Deactivate properties-based theming
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=257496
We're sorry for any inconvenience. This step is necessary to keep the
RAP code base clean and healthy.
Regards,
The RAP team
