Hi All,

One the FAQs for GEF states that it 'cannot' be used for standalone apps.
But then I found an example of standalone GEF app on the eclipse wiki
(http://eclipsewiki.swiki.net/) and have been trying to get it to compile
and run with GEF 2.0

I've been working on this almost whole day today but no success :( .
Has anyone been able to get this to compile and run as a standalone
application. I ended up hacking GEF and the Logic Example Code.

Would really appreciate if some one can show/suggest how to go about
creating a very bare simple standalone app example.

I am working on M6 and GEF 2.x

IMHO it is rather old and outdated.

You will need to hack a lot of more code if you want a standalone app right
now. As the FAQ said, it is NOT possible. The standalone GEF app on the
eclipse wiki is a hack and there is no guarantee that it will work nowadays
with current releases.

I assume by M6 that you are talking about Eclipse 3.0. Wait until Eclipse
3.0 and GEF 3.0 is released and you can build a standalone app withouth the
IDE stuff. RCP is your friend.
