Hello,
I'd need to add some mouse events, that are supported by qooxdoo but not
by RAP as of now. Plus some other events.

Do examples exist that illustrate how the communication between the RAP
server and the client work? Also a technical (but not _too_ technical ;-)
overview of the RAP architecture would help me.

In the RAP help, there is a tutorial for writing custom widgets. This
one contains an overview of the client-server communication and all the
details you need to get started:
