Hello,
is there a way to use a rap based application only inside a
portlet-window, which is one part of a portal-site?

Hi,
just a quote from one of my answers to the portlets questions in this
newsgroup:
" at the current stage there are no plans for RAP to support
portals/portlets, since this is beyond the scope of the technology
project. The RAP rendering engine manages the whole client side document
and does not support simple snippets that could be included into portal
pages as laid down by the portal specification. But it may be possible
to build an application on top of RAP that integrates portlet snippets
into a kind of portlet view. But actually I'm not familiar enough with
the portlet specification to answer that point thoroughly."
However in the meantime we think about supporting multiple tabs per
session for example. But note that this is not committed yet in the 1.2
release plan. This would probably improve the situation regarding
portlets, but still I just could only imagine that the 'RAP' portlets
only could run in a inline frames...
Ciao
Frank

Sorry for asking a FAQ. I must have missed that.

I thought about a possible integration of a rap-application into a portal
and found it not a good idea. Your statement confirms this.
Thank you for your answer!
